MOSCOW, April 21 (Itar-Tass) - First Deputy Prime Minister of
Kyrgyzstan's provisional government Almazbek Atambayev said the new
authorities were taking all the measures to stabilize the situation and
combat the attempts to seize land illegally, lootings and thugs. Atambayev
accused the former administration of masterminding the unrest.
"Of course, we are not indifferent in monitoring the situation, but
certain people stayed behind here, with the task to unsettle the
situation," he told Echo Moscow radio on Wednesday
"They won't succeed; and now they're trying to make it look like
ethnic clashes. Such is their task, and they're trying to fulfill it. It's
perfectly clear they're trying to rock the situation, and create the
appearance of the advent of new authorities, who are anti-Russian etc.
They dish out money and alcohol. Of course, when they get people drunk
these people would march under all kinds of slogans," the official said.
Atambayev noted that the provisional government would be seeking a
public trial of Kurmanbek Bakiyev.
