KEY OF INDONESIAN THOMAS CUP TEAM LIES IN MEN'S DOUBLES
Semarang, April 21 (ANTARA) - Head of Djarum Kudus badminton association Yopi Rosimin believed that the key to a victory of the Indonesian Thomas team lies in the finals of its men`s doubles in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from May 9 to 16, 2010.
"If two of the men`s doubles matches won, victory would be easily grabbed by the Indonesian team. Whoever are the opponents, the Chinese, Koreans, Danes, Malaysians, and others," he said from Semarang Wednesday.
He added that if two of the men`s doubles already won, the Indonesian team would have only another victory from the men`s singles, and the hope is obviously from the third singles, Simon Santoso or Dionysius Hayom Rumbaka.
"I think the first singles player (if Taufik Hidayat) would have difficulties in beating Chinese Lin Dan, Malaysian Lee Chong Wei, and Denmark`s Peter Gade, while the second singles player Sonny Dwi Kuncoro may also have trouble as he may have to face a strong opponent," he said.
It may be possible that the first doubles will go to Markis Kido and Hendra Setiawan, and the second doubles to Nova Widianto and Muhammad Ahsan.
