UAE team tours EU countries to bolster joint cooperation in exports control
Abu Dhabi, July 7, 2008 (WAM) - A UAE delegation is currently visiting Germany and a number of EU countries to get first hand information about exports control mechanisms and energize joint customs cooperation.
The tour, which comes amid growing trade exchange between the UAE and EU, a major trade partner, aims at boosting joint cooperation and coordination in areasof customs and exports control regimes.
Trade exchange between the UAE and Europe reached Dh157 billion last yearwith UAE imports accounting for Dh132 billion of which Dh27 billion from Germany.
UAE exported goods worth Dh3.2 billion with exports to Germany standing at Dh196 million. UAE re-exports to Europe were valued at Dh22billion with Germany share valued at Dh764 million.
