PINDAD AND MALAYSIA'S WGR AGREE TO SELL ARMORED CARS


Kuala lumpur, April 22 (ANTARA) - PT Pindad and Malaysia's WGR agreed in Kuala Lumpur to sell six 6X6 "Anoa" armored vehicles built by the Indonesian state army weaponry manufacturer.

The deal was contained in a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed by both sides at the Defense Services Asia Exhibition and conference 2010 in the Malaysian capital Thursday.

The signing was witnessed by Defense Minister Purnomo Yusgiantoro and State Enterprises Minister Mustafa Abubakar.

The armored personnel carriers had been built specially for the cavalry.

Each of them could carry 10 personnel with a crew of three, one commander, and a gunner.

It also has a mounting for a 12.7 mm machine gun which can turn 360 degrees.

Two Indonesian companies PT Pindad and PT Sritex took part in the arms exhibition in Kuala Lumpur held since April 19.
