STATE RECEIPTS FROM OIL, GAS SECTOR TO REACH RP218 TRILLION

Jakarta, April 22 (ANTARA) - State receipts from the oil and gas sector are likely to meet the target of Rp216.8 trillion set in the 2010 state budget, a Finance Ministry official said.

"It is likely revenues from the oil and gas sector to reach Rp216.8 trillion," head of the ministry`s fiscal policy board Anggito Abimanyu said at a hearing with the House of Representatives` Commission VII at the parliament building here on Thursday.

The meeting which was also attended by Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Darwin Z Saleh and Director General of Oil and Gas Evita Legowo turned tough when it discussed assumed oil and condensate production in the 2010 state budget.

According to macro assumptions, oil production has been set at 965,000 barrels a day, the Indonesian Crude Price (ICP) at US$80 a barrel and the rupiah`s exchange rate at Rp9,300 per dollar.

Based on the assumptions the country`s total receipts from the oil and gas sector were projected to reach Rp216.8 trillion consisting of Rp55.8 trillion from income tax, Rp113.17 trillion from oil, Rp39.967 trillion from gas and Rp7.83 trillion from non-tax state revenue, he said.

But if oil production was set at 965,000 barrels a day, oil price at US$65 a barrel and the rupiah`s exchange rate at Rp10,000 per dollar the total state receipts from the oil and gas sector would reach Rp174.39 trillion, he said.

The receipts consisted of Rp47.02 trillion from income tax, Rp89.23 trillion from oil, Rp31.3 trillion from gas and Rp6.84 trillion from non-tax state revenue, he said.

"Given the change in the macro assumptions, the difference of total receipts from the oil and gas sector increased Rp42.406 trillion," he said.

Yet the macro assumptions still had to be approved by the House, he said.
