E KALIMANTAN (INDONESIA) HAS MARKET PROSPECTS IN EUROPE
Samarinda, E Kalimantan, April 22 (ANTARA) - The participation of the East Kalimantan and Kutai Timur administrations in the Indonesian Fair 2010 in The Hague, Holland, Den Haag, was not in vain as it opened up an East Kalimantan market there.
"Europeans are keenly interested in handicraft products from the province, and their investors are interested in developing the agribusiness potentials in Kutai Timur, and in East Kalimantan in general," the Kutai Timur administration`s spokesman H. Syafranuddin said in Sangata Friday on the results of the visit made early in April 2010.
He said his side is ready to grab the golden opportunities with the support of the Kutai Timur regency administration.
In the participation in the Indonesian Fair in The Hague the East Kalimantan pavilion had made retail transactions of handicraft products reaching 4500 euro.
And on the first day (Mar 31), during which the East Kalimantan governor also sold potential infrastructure products at the Indonesian pavilion which attracted investors from Holland, Germany, Belgium, Luxemberg, Suriname and some other European countries.
Many of the foreign investors had expressed interest in making an investment in building infrastructure projects in East Kalimantan. But they said they will go to the province first to observe the real conditions in the province.
The infrastructure projects include the Pulau Balang bridge, toll roads, railway tracks and the development of the Maloy region in East Kutai, and the Bontang petrochemical complex.
"Those participating in the event are West Sumatra, Palembang, Bali, West Java, East Java, and East Kalimantan," Yadi Sabianoor said.
