DPRK confiscates part of S Korean property in Kymgansan-adds.

23/4 Tass 138

PYONGYANG, April 23 (Itar-Tass) -- North Korea has decided to
confiscate a considerable part of property belonging to South Korea in the
Kymgansan mountains, a representative of the State Department for the
Sights, as the Korean Central News Agency reported on Friday, said.
In particular, a center of meetings of families separated by the
Korean War of 1950-1953, a cultural center and a duty free shop and
another two facilities belonging to the South Korean tourist firm are to
be confiscated. Their personnel will be expelled from the country. The
confiscated property will be transferred to the state or other
businessmen. The rest of South Korea's property in this region will be
frozen.
The department's spokesman explained this step of the North Korean
government by unwillingness of the South Korean side to resume tourist
trips to the Kymgansan mountains in accordance with the joint project, as
well as "striving of the puppet regime to heighten tension between the
North and the South."
