MOSCOW, April 23 (Itar-Tass) -- The leader of the Ar-Namys (Dignity)
Party and the former Kyrgyz Prime Minister, Felix Kulov, refuses to
participate in the presidential elections, which will be held in the
republic simultaneously with the parliamentary elections in October 2010.
"I will not run for president, but our party will participate actively
in the parliamentary elections," Kulov told a press conference in Moscow
on Friday.
The Kyrgyz interim government have made numerous statements to make
Kyrgyzstan a parliamentary republic.
At a press conference Kulov refrained from the answer to a question
about the mistakes in the work of the republican interim government and
priority steps, which it should take. "The power came to them out of the
blue. There are certain mistakes, but we should give them some time to
repair them. New authorities themselves aware of their flaws," he said.
A few days before in an interview with the Kyrgyz news agency AKIpress
Kulov recommended strongly to the interim government to convene the
parliament and dismiss Bakiyev. "I insist on my proposal. The parliament
should meet and dismiss him through the corresponding procedure, then let
the parliament dissolve calmly fulfilling its historical mission," the
politician said.
Kulov is convinced that the interim government should take this step
to ensure legal and public stability in the country. "This should be done
immediately, then all issues will be settled in the legal field, and no
one will doubt there is a president in the country. Kyrgyzstan should show
to the whole world the civilized approach, which envisages the parliament
impeachment to Bakiyev," he underlined.
