Cuban military delegation staying in Cuba on visit.

PYONGYANG, April 24 (Itar-Tass) -- President of the Presidium of the
DPRK Supreme People's Assembly (parliament) Kim Yong Nam held a meeting
here with a Cuban military delegation headed by Chief of the General
Staff, Deputy Minister of Cuba's Revolutionary Armed Forces Alvaro Lopez
Miera.
As the Korean Central News Agency (CCT) reported on Saturday, the
meeting was held in a "friendly atmosphere."
Chief of the General Staff of the Korean People's Army (KPA) Ri Yong
Ho held talks with the head of the Cuban delegation. Representatives of
the DPRK Ministry of the People's Armed Forces, military leaders and KPA
officers were present at the talks.
In his address, Ri Yong Ho said that the visit of the Cuban delegation
"became an important stage in the development of friendly relations
between the two countries' armies and bilateral ties as a whole." He also
said about support of the Cuban people which "upholds independence in the
fight with imperialism, strengthens the country's defense capability and
its prestige on the world arena."
The head of the Cuban delegation, for his part, recalled that the 50th
anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two
states came this year. He stressed that Cuba and the DPRK, which "are
being oriented at the same ideals, should continue developing traditional
relations of friendship."
