British PM shows interest in Russia idea of Middle East conference
TOYAKO (Japan), July 8 (Itar-Tass) - British Prime Minister Gordon Brown has confirmed interest of Britain and the European Union as a whole in cooperation with Russia in Middle East settlement, the president's aide Sergei Prikhodko told reporters.
"Brown said Britain and other countries of the European Union areinterested in Russia's active participation in Middle East settlement," Prikhodko said after the Russian president's meeting with the British prime minister.
Prikhodko said Brown "showed much interest in the idea of the Russian leadership of holding an international meeting on the Middle East in Moscow".
