GEELY COMMITTED TO INVESTING $30 MILLION IN INDONESIA
Jakarta, April 25 (ANTARA) - Chinese car maker Geely Automobile-Holding Limited remains committed to investing more than US$30 million in the Indonesian automotive sector.
Up till now the Chinese company had not changed its intention to expand its business in Indonesia, Geely Motor Indonesia President Director Budi Pramono said on the sidelines of Auto China Show 2010 in Beijing on Sunday.
If need be, Geely might raise the investment but it still had to evaluate the market prospect of its products in Indonesia, he said.
Realizing that competition among car makers in Indonesia was relatively tough, Geely would make breakthroughs in marketing its products by offering fairly competitive prices of middle and low class cars and maintenance guarantee of up to five years, he said.
Vice President Director of Geely Automobile Holdings Limited Group Jian Yang said Geely was prepared to step up market penetration by offering a variety of cars which are not inferior to US-and Europe-made cars in terms of design and technology.
Jian Yang said Geely had committed itself to prove that it had been on a par with world-class car makers which had long controlled the global car market.
