HOUSE, POLICE DISCUSS TAX MAFIA CASES
Jakarta, April 26 (ANTARA) - The House's Commission III on legal and security affairs and National Police Chief Gen Bambang Hendarso Danuri discussed current issues, including tax mafia cases, at a working meeting here on Monday.
At the meeting which was chaired by Commission III chairman Beny Harman, the police chief explained various cases, particularly the police determination to settle tax mafia cases which among others involved case brokers.
"Police are still investigating these (tax mafia) cases," the police chief said. He also explained about the police investigation of tax case in East Java, the alleged case broker Bahasyim Asifi case and illegal logging and mining in Riau.
He said that if there were police members who were involved in those cases, they would be relieved of their positions and their police membership.
Besides, Danuri also explained to the House the efforts made by police in the handling of "Mbah Pirok' riot case which killed a number of people and injured tens of others.
On the Mbah Priok riot, the police chief denied the allegation that police forces left the scene when the rioting took place in Tanjung Priok.
On the occasion, a number of Commission III members also asked the police to explain about the case of former police chief detective Comr. Gen. Susno Duadji.
