B.MONGONTUUL SUCCESSFULLY TAKING PART IN FIDE GRAND PRIX


Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ World Grand Master (WGM) B.Mongontuul who is currently possessing a rating of 2428 has beaten her rival world number one Koneru Humpy (2622) from India at the second round of a third stage of the Grand Prix FIDE taking place among women in Nalchik city, Russia.
Apart of chess masters of Mongolia and India, the Grand Prix of FIDE is being held leading women of world in chess such as GMs Yifan Hou (2570, China), Kosintseva Tatiana (2524, Russia), Cramling Pia (2523, Sweden), IMs Mkrtchan Lilit (2503, Armenia), Danielian Elina (2491, Armenia), Zhao Xue (2490, China), Dzagnidze Nana (2479, Georgia), Chen Zhu (2476, Qatar), Konanova Baira (2385, Russia) and Yildiz Betul Cemre (2244, Turkey) from Turkey.
The FIDE Women Grand Prix is a new series of elite tournaments which will be organized by the FIDE and Global Chess. There will be six legs over two years in various countries around the world with three tournaments every year.
The winner of each tournament will win EUR 6,500 out of prize fund of EUR 40,000 and the overall winner of the series will win a further EUR 15,000 at the end of the series. The next series will be held in Jermuk, Armenia on June 23-July 6, in Ulaanbaatar
July 29-August 12 and in Santiago, Chile, October 27-November 9 this year.
