PYONGYANG, May 1 (Itar-Tass) -- Chairman of the Presidium of the
Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK Kim Yong Num, who participated in
the opening ceremony of the world exhibition EXPO 2010 in China, met with
Head of the Palestinian Autonomy Mahmoud Abbas there.
As the Korean Central News Agency (CCT) reported on Saturday, during
their talks, the head of the North Korean parliament conveyed to Abbas a
message of greetings from General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea
and Chairman of the State Defense Committee of the DPRK Kim Jong-il.
The head of the Palestinian Autonomy, in his turn, expressed
confidence that "bilateral relations of friendship, which have been tested
by time, will continue developing." "Palestine," he stressed, "considers
the people of the DPRK to be its close friend."
Abbas conveyed a gift for Kim Jong-il.
