Moscow govt says parts of city to be closed for traffic May 2.
MOSCOW, May 2 (Itar-Tass) - Automobile traffic will be limited on
several streets in Moscow Sunday in connection with various public
functions.
"From 11:00 hours through 14:00 hours, there'll be no access for cars
to the inner side of the streets making up the Garden Ring and to
Triumfalnaya Square, and from 11:00 hours through 17:00 hours traffic won'
t be admitted to Krylatskaya Street," a source at Moscow City's Road
Police department said.
The latter street will also be closed for traffic in the same hours
May 3. From 08:30 through 15:30 on the same day, traffic restrictions will
be introduced on Moskvkoretskaya Street to the south of Red Square, on the
St Basil's Slope, Moskvoretskaya embankment, the Kremlin embankment, as
well as Prechistenskaya and Frunze embankments.
May 6 and May 7, there will be no traffic between 15:00 hours and
19:00 hours on Krylatskaya Street. At much the time on May 7, restrictions
will embrace Nizhniye Mnevniki Street, Karamyshevskaya Embankment, and
Zvenigorodskoye Shosse street.
Several dozen streets in the city will be closed for traffic at night
hours May 4 and May 6 when major rehearsals of the VE-Day Parade are held.
Road police have asked the owners of private cars to refrain from
going to the city's center on their cars on the above-said days, to
exercise maximum caution when driving and to strictly follow the
directions of inspectors and read road signs attentively.
