4/5 Tass 143

ULAN-UDE, May 4 (Itar-Tass) -- Buryatia will present in Mongolia its
projects of creating nine ethno-tourist centers. Their presentation will
be held within the framework of the international Byuryatian national
festival "Altargana-2010" due to be held in Ulan Bator in summer.
"The projects have the common brand "Buryatian Settlement" and are
prepared by municipalities," ITAR-TASS learnt at the press service of the
republic's government. Among the projects is the museum "Great Chingishan"
in the Ivolginsky region and the center "Chingishan's Way. Defeat of the
Merkits" in the Bichusrky region.
In April, Buryatia and Mongolia signed an agreement on cooperation in
the development of tourism. It envisages the joint implementation of
projects in this sphere.
The ninth international Buryatian national festival "Altragana" is
coming back to Mongolia this year. The festival arose in Mongolia in the
early 90s as a song holiday of Buryatians. Since 2002, the festival, which
became a symbol of cultural unity of Buryatians living in Russia, Mongolia
and China, was most frequently held in Russia. Simultaneously with the
festival's cultural program, business circles of the three countries hold
their meetings.
