.Stability in Kyrgyzstan is interim government's main achievement.

BISHKEK, May 7 (Itar-Tass) -- Stabilising the situation in the
republic is the main achievement of Kyrgyzstan's interim government over
the month that followed the tragic events of April 6-8, the head of the
interim government, Roza Otunbayeva, said at the first meeting of the
Consultations Council on Friday.
"We are working out a project for further development of the country,
which will cover all aspects of democratisation of the government and of
the social and economic development of Kyrgyzstan," she said. "We are
paying special attention to the reduction of unemployment in our country."
The Council is a consulting body, and its members represent different
political parties, civil and non-governmental organisations and movements.
Otunbayeva has appealed to the participants of the meeting to cooperate
closely with the government.
"You are politicians and representatives of civil organisations who
directly contact our people," she said. "I would like you to become a
liaison between the interim government and other political and civil
forces."
Otunbayeva suggested organising regular meetings of the Council on a
monthly basis.
The leader of Kyrgyz communists, Itzhak Masaliyev, pointed out to the
importance of practical influence of the Council on the interim government.
The president of Kyrgyz Association of Markets, Trade and Services,
Sergei Ponomaryev, is convinced that the decisions of the interim
government are not implemented in reality and suggested "establishing
order in the court system."
The participants in the meeting initiated the discussion of the
negative impact of closed borders with Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
Otunbayeva said that the interim government had agreed with Kazakhstan
that it would open the border on May 11.
The leader of the Freedom of Choice Party, Vladislav Lisovsky, said
Kyrgyzstan would benefit if it built up cooperation with Russia not only
in political or economical spheres, but also in military-defence projects.
He suggested having Russian military to guard the state border of
Kyrgyzstan, like it used to be back in the times of the Soviet Union.
