MGIMO to confer honorary degree on Israel President Tue.

MOSCOW, May 11 (Itar-Tass) - MGIMO diplomatic university is to confer
the honorary degree of MGIMO Doctor Honoris Causa on Israel's President
Shimon Peres at a ceremony here on Tuesday.
After the ceremony, Peres is to address MGIMO students in a lecture on
the subject of "Geopolitical Situation in the Middle East and
Russo-Israeli Relations".
Israeli President Shimon Peres together with Prime Minister Binyamin
Netanyahu arrived in Moscow on May 8 to attend ceremonies marking the
celebration of the 65th anniversary of the Victory.
Binyamin Netanyahu and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev issued a
joint statement on the occasion of the Victory anniversary. Israeli World
War Two veterans arrived in Russia together with the officials. They met
with their regimental comrades and addressed conferences organised in
various cities of Russia.
