Somali pirates seize Taiwan fishing boat with 28 crewmen.

VLADIVOSTOK, May 11 (Itar-Tass) - Somali pirates have seized the
Taiwanese fishing boat TAY YUAN 227 with a 28-member crew. There are nine
Chinese, three Vietnamese, three Filipinos, seven Kenyans, and two
Mozambique nationals among the crew.
A report to this effect came on Tuesday from the press center of the
European Union (EU) naval force that fights piracy in the Gulf of Aden and
the Indian Ocean.
The seizure of the ship was carried out at a distance of 700 miles
northeast of the Seychelles. The TAY YUAN 227 is currently heading towards
the Somali coast. The EU naval force and the Taiwanese rescue center are
monitoring the situation.
