Azerbaijan, Russia DMs discuss prospects for military coop.

BAKU, May 11 (Itar-Tass) -- Azerbaijani Defense Minister Safar Abiyev
and his Russian counterpart Anatoly Serdyukov held a meeting here on
Tuesday to discuss prospects for development of military and technical
cooperation between the two countries, the press service of the
Azerbaijani Defense Ministry reported.
According to the press service, the sides also considered the military
and political situation in the region and issues of solving the
Nagorno-Karabkh conflict. The Azerbaijani defense minister stressed the
necessity of intensifying mediating efforts of the Minsk OSCE Group for
Nagorno-Karabakh to solve the problem. According to him, all efforts
should be aimed at the peaceful settlement of the conflict, otherwise the
situation in the region may "reach an undesirable level."
Russia, the United States and France are the co-chairmen of the Minsk OSCE Group.
