Georgia parliament to adopt statement on Russia planes

TBILISI, July 11 (Itar-Tass) - The Georgian parliament at its extraordinary session on Friday will adopt "a special statement in connection with the violation of the country's airspace by Russianmilitary planes," the parliament's press service reported.

The meeting participants will also consider the general states of the Georgian-Russian relations. The parliament leadership is expected to address international organisations with a proposal "to denounce actions of Russia that has violated the Georgian airspace." On July 10, Georgia made a decision to recall its ambassador from Moscow to Tbilisi "for consultations," Georgian Foreign Minister EkaTkeshelashvili told journalists.

Speaking at a news briefing on Thursday, Tkeshelashvilii said, "Today the Russian Foreign Ministry has recognised - by a cynical form an act of aggression against Georgia. It has recognised the violation of the country' s air space in encroachment upon Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity."
