FC to consider 50 laws at its last meeting of spring session

MOSCOW, July 11 (Itar-Tass) - The Federation Council upper house ofRussia's parliament on Friday will hold the last plenary meeting of the spring session.

The house intends to consider at it 50 laws adopted by the State Duma lower house during the last days of its work ahead of aparliamentary recess.

The agenda includes a package of most important documents affecting the interests of Russians, including lowering of the tax burden, increasing of social allowances to many categories of citizens. The FC members will approve, on advice of the relevant committees, changes to the three-year federal budget and non-budgetary social funds - the Pension Fund, Social Insurance Fund and Medical Insurance Fund. The amendments to the budget distribute additional revenues that will be used to support social, economic, cultural and sports programmes and support veterans,families and children.

The parliamentarians will consider a package of international agreements, including an agreement with the United States on safe transportation, storage and elimination of weapons, Convention on the Physical Protection of Nuclear Material, with Latvia - an agreement on the status of Latvian burial sites in the Russian territory and on the Russianburial sites in Latvia.

The package of amendments to the Russian Tax Code and a number of tax laws aimed at creating favourable conditions for ensuring innovationdevelopment of the economy and supporting citizens consist of five laws.

The relevant committees backed the necessity of setting up the fund for support of housing construction that is being created on the initiative of the Russian president and is formalised in the law "on assisting the development of housing construction." Changes to the legislation in connection with the improvement of the Russian government's execution of powers are also to be considered. Over 400 mandates in the sphere of state and local self-government, science, healthcare will begiven to persons authorised by the federal power bodies.

The FC members will consider as well the issue of financial support topolitical parties.
