MOSCOW, May 13 (Itar-Tass) - Delegates from Russia's Gazprom and the
China National Petroleum Corporation /CNPC/ met in Kazan on Thursday for
another round of talks on gas supplies.
Gazprom's delegation was headed by its Deputy CEO Alexander Medvedev,
and the Chinese corporation was represented by its vice-president, Wang
Dongjin.
The sides discussed the parameters of future supplies of Russian
natural gas to China. The supplies will be regulated by the
Russian-Chinese memorandum on mutual understanding regarding cooperation
in natural gas and by the Road Map plan, which is an addendum to the
memorandum, Gazprom said on Thursday.
"The delegations have exchanged views on gas pricing policies, thus
bringing closer the positions of the sides," Gazprom's statement said.
The Chinese delegation gave an overview of the situation in China's
energy sector and paid special attention to the natural gas market. It
also touched upon some development guidelines for China's gas producing
industry and unconventional gas sources. The sides exchanged views on the
future development of the world energy market.
In late 2009, Gazprom Export and a CNPC-affiliated company signed a
basic agreement on supplies from Russia to China.
Gazprom may start supplies to China in 2015, Prime-Tass quotes
Medvedev as saying.
