Lt. Gen. Duangchai Phichith presents Labour-Victory Medals to Vietnam's Army

(KPL) In recognition of the contribution of the Vietnamese army to Laos, the Lao Government presented medals to several army personnel of the Vietnamese army on 8 July.

Lieutenant General Duangchai Phichith, Deputy Prime Minister, and Ministerof National Defence, presented the medals on behalf of the Lao government.

The Lao Ambassador to Vietnam, Mrs Sounthone Sayachak, organised this medalpresentation ceremony held at the Lao Embassy in Hanoi, Vietnam.

The General Political Department of the Vietnamese Army was conferred the First Class Labour Victory Medal, the Second Class Labour Victory Medal was presented to seven officers who are serving in the Political General Department and the Third Class Victory Medal were awarded to fiveoutstanding officials.

Some committee members of the Party Central Committee of the Vietnamese Communist Party, high-ranking officers of the Vietnamese Army and officersfrom the Lao embassy attended this ceremony.

Mrs Sounthone, who spoke at this event congratulated the Political General Department and individuals of the Vietnamese Army, and also said that the Lao PDR is grateful to the people of Vietnam for the assistance given to hercountry..

Mr Ghuyn Chuan Long, Head of the Political General Department of the Vietnamese Army, and who also acted as the representative of the Vietnamese government said that his country is happy to be able to play an importantrole in contributing to the development of Laos.
