Public Chamber commission to hold session on cultural heritage.
VELIKY NOVGOROD, July 12 (Itar-Tass) - Russian Public Chamber's commission for cultural and spiritual heritage will hold on Saturday a special session, devoted to preparations for celebrations to mark the1150th anniversary of Russia's north-western city of Veliky Novgorod.
The session will be held jointly with the Novgorod region administration, the press service of the regional administration told Tass on Friday.
It said participants in the session will hear reports on work being done ahead of the jubilee by the regional administration and the federal organizing committee. It is led by Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Zhukov and Russian president's envoy to the North-Western Federal District, Ilya Klebanov.
Festivities will be held in September 2009. Deputies of the Novgorod regional duma, officials from the Ministry for Regional Development, the Industry and Trade Ministry, the Ministry for Education and Science, the Ministry for Culture and Mass Communications, the Federal Agency for Print and Mass Media, the administration of the Pskov region, the Russian Academy of Business and Entrepreneurship and the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry will take part.
