JOINT STATEMENT BY MONGOLIAN AND CZECH PRIME MINISTERS


Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The Prime Minister of Mongolia Mr. S.Batbold and the Premier of the Czech Republic Mr. Jan Fischer held negotiations on the bilateral relations in Ulaanbaatar Wednesday.
The sides underlined that the democratic reform that took place 20 years ago in the former socialist countries has played a vital role in the both countries' fate and gave great opportunities to develop.
Mongolia and the Republic of Czech have been developing their comprehensive ties and cooperation based on universal values, democracy and free economics. The two countries affirmed that they have a willingness to develop and intensify the bilateral partnership cooperation in the sectors of trade, economics, culture, education, science, defense, environment, labor and migration.
The sides noted the Joint Committee is an important mechanism to develop the cooperation between the countries, and agreed to cooperate in creating a good legal environment for commerce and investments. The Mongolian side wants to revive the ties between the related organizations of defense sector.
The countries emphasized an importance of the educational, scientific and cultural collaboration, including the matter on involving Mongolian students in trainings in Czech universities and institutes.
The sides agreed to continue their active cooperation in frames of the United Nations (UN) and other international organizations. They noted an importance of establishing the Partnership and Cooperation Agreement between Mongolia and the European Union (EU). The Mongolian side appreciated a support CR gave Mongolia and a vital impetus from the Czech government for forwarding a course of the official start of the Mongolia-EU Partnership and Cooperation Agreement.
Mongolia's side reported that its government intends to introduce all principles, standards and norms of the EU in a scope of the purpose to increase its index of world competitiveness. Therefore, the sides agreed to cooperate in developing these works. Moreover, the Czech side expressed a willingness of the EU to render comprehensive assistance and support to Mongolia in introducing the EU's standards.
The two countries underlined that the visit of the Czech Premier has a vital importance in strengthening the people's ties and in regularize mutual high level visits and talks.
