PRESIDENT RECEIVES GOVERNOR OF SVERDLOVSKAYA OBLAST

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj received Monday A.S.Misharin, a governor of Sverdlovskaya Oblast of the Russian Federation.
Beginning the meeting, Elbegdorj appreciated a visit of the Russian business delegation who are accompanying the Governor. "They met with the Mongolian businessmen and have gained knowledge about Mongolian economy and its business opportunities. Mongolia has engaged in a development of its mining sector and is aiming to attract domestic and foreign investments to it and to expand a cooperation with those countries and organizations having a big experience in the mining sector. Therefore, the business delegation from Your oblast has full opportunities to get acquainted with our realities on the spot," said Elbegdorj.
Mentioning about an intensive development of the Mongolia-Russia relations and their expansion into cultural, educational and scientific sectors, Mr. Elbegdorj said many Mongolian students are studying successfully in Russia's universities and institutes. "Only in Irkutsk are studying some 800 Mongolians, which means that an opportunity exists to train our students in universities of Ural region majoring them in economic, engineering and technical fields," he added.
The President also said that almost half of Mongolian mining professionals are the alumni of the Ural State Technical University and the Ural Mining Institute and that some 70 Mongolians are studying now in Yekaterinburg city.
In his turn, Mr. Misharin said he is satisfied with his visit to Mongolia and with meeting many important people, and expressed a willingness to develop a wide cooperation with Mongolia in the spheres of railways, mining, processing industries, business and education.
