100 Chinese quake-affected children arrive in Kemerovo region

KEMEROVO, July 17 (Itar-Tass) - One hundred Chinese children affected
by a devastating earthquake in Sichuan province on May 12 have arrived in the Kemerovo region to spend three weeks in a regional children recreation centre.

Kemerovo region governor Aman Tuleyev met them at the airport.
China and the Kemerovo region have years-long business relations,
mainly in the coal mining and construction. Having known about China's
tragedy the Kemerovo region did not hesitate to stretch its helping hand,
Tuleyev told Itar-Tass.

The centre, where the Chinese children will stay has good team of
psychologists, medical workers and interpreters, who will help children to
rehabilitate.

"We will do our utmost to ease pain of the Chinese children and will
help them to keep bright impressions from their visit to Kuzbass," the
governor said.
