Phonsay district access to electricity
(KPL) The electricity supply system of Phonsay district has been officially opened for the public on 11 July, 2008.
According to a local source, Mr. Bountham Senphansiri, Head of the Lao Electricity Enterprise, Luang Prabang province's office and a number of guests were invited to witness the event.
The survey of this project started in 2004, and the work commenced in 2005 with the total cost over 9 billion kip.
The main work included the construction of a station with medium voltage of 22 KV, low voltage 0.4 KV; and the installation of a 950-GWh transformer. The facilities will benefit 1,494 families.
