Russia, Kenya foreign ministers to meet in Moscow
MOSCOW, July 19 (Itar-Tass) - The Russian and Kenyan foreign
ministers, Sergei Lavrov and Mozes Wetangula, will discuss prospects for activation of Russian-Kenyan relations at their meeting in Moscow.
"A thorough analysis of main tendencies in world development will be
carried out at the talks," Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Andrei
Nesterenko said.
"Priority attention will be given to discussion of such important
problems as the formation of a democratic system of the world order, the
coordination of efforts to counteract international terrorism. It is
planned to review in detail the topic of the strengthening of the UN'
central role in maintenance of global peace and stability, ways of
reforming this organization," he said.
"The ministers will exchange views on the whole range of problems
related with the search for settlement of conflicts and crises on the
African continent that are still a serious barrier to solving the tasks of
political and socio-economic development of African countries," the
diplomat said.
"The sides will discuss the current status and prospects of activation
of bilateral relation and possibilities for their further diversification.
Special attention will be given to the search for ways of a broader use of
the available potential in development of mutually beneficial cooperation
in the trade and economic sphere, culture, tourism and the training of the
national cadre," Nesterenko said.
