Moscow, Beijing consolidate cooperation-China State Council chief.
BEIJING, July 21 (Itar-Tass) - Regular contacts of the leaders of Russia and China are important, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said at his meeting with Chinese State Council Premier Wen Jiabao onMonday.
"The regular intensive contacts of the Russian president and theChinese chairman, as well as the meetings of the two countries' premiers are important for development of the relations and the implementation of the accords that have been reached recently," he said.
Lavrov passed "kind regards and wishes of success from RussianPresident Dmitry Medvedev and Prime Minister Vladimir Putin".
The Chinese State Council Premier in turn said the Russian foreign minister visited China "at an important moment when the relations aredeveloping in all areas".
"Russia and China are large states, we have a common 4,300-kilometer border, we have successfully settled border issue and signed the friendship, good neighborliness and cooperation treaty -- this is a solid basis for strategic partnership".
Wen Jiabao said the "Russian-Chinese relations have entered a newphase".
"The sign of it is the consolidation of political mutual trust andpractical cooperation," he said.
