Primorye, Japanese prefecture to launch sea link
VLADIVOSTOK, July 22 (Itar-Tass) - The administration of Russia'sPrimorye and a delegation from the Japanese prefecture Shimane, which is in Russia for a friendly visit, confirmed on Monday their intentions to boost bilateral contacts in different spheres, and approved the initiative to launch a constant sea link between the Russian port of Vladivostok and the Japanese port of Hamada.
They see the opening of the sea link as one more step towards boosting contacts between the two regions.
The sides signed a joint protocol, in which they "positively assess relations between the Primorye Territory and the Shimane prefecture," the Primorye administration reported.
The visit of the Japanese delegation will continue till Wednesday,July 23.
