China hopes Nepal's first president to ensure political stability
BEIJING, July 22 (Itar-Tass) - China hopes that Nepal's first president Ram Baran Yadav can ensure political stability and economic development of the country, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman LiuJianchao said on Tuesday.
"China as Nepal's friendly neighbour and partner sincerely hopes that the government will go down the path of peace and progress and can ensure political stability and economic development and strengthen national solidarity," he said.
On Monday, Nepal's governing assembly elected the new republic's first president, Ram Baran Yadav, 61.
