ONGKILI TO LEAD DELEGATION TO PROMOTE SMART PARTNERSHIP MODEL WITH AUSTRALIA
KUALA LUMPUR, July 21 (Bernama) -- Science, Technology and Innovation
minister Maximus Ongkili, will lead a high level delegation of ICT and business
solution providers, to the "Collaboration Through Cross Border Partnerships To
Go Global" ICT seminars in Australia, next month.
The seminars will be held in Sydney (Aug 3) and Melbourne (Aug 5),
respectively, alongside Business-To-Business (B2B) meetings.
A statement issued by The National ICT Association of Malaysia (PIKOM) said
the Minister and the delegation would promote the "smart partnership model" to
connect Australian and Malaysian corporations in reaching a wider market in the
global economy.
Commenting on the mission, Ongkili said the delegation of Malaysian ICT and
Outsourcing Malaysia (OM) providers are ready to do business and keen on
developing links with Australian clients and partners.
"The business mission and programme will provide the platform and
opportunity for companies from both countries to discuss and engage further, as
well as share information and ideas in the area of expertise from each
country," he added.
He also said the marketplace of the future is global and the key
ingredient for success would be mutually beneficial, cross border commercial
partnerships.
"Malaysians can learn and leverage on Australia's strength in the area of
innovation, technology and product development, as well as research and
development.
"Australians on the other hand, can leverage on the core strengths that
Malaysia has in the area of finance, especially Islamic finance, and
availability of skillful talent," he highlighted.
According to Ongkili, smart partnerships that take advantage of each other's
strengths and expertise will provide the foundation for more business
opportunities and growth.
