Brammertz to discuss cooperation with Serbia leadership
THE HAGUE, July 23 (Itar-Tass) - Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) Serge Brammertz is embarking on a working trip to Belgrade on Tuesday.
During the visit the sides will discuss issues of Serbia's cooperation with the Hague Tribunal in the search for and handover to international justice of persons wantedby ICTY.
Meanwhile, on of the world's most wanted persons, former leader of Bosnian Serbs Radovan Karadzic has been arrested by Serbian securityagencies.
As is known, the ICTY demands from the Serbian side the extradition of three main persons figuring in cases of crimes against humanity during the war in the former Yugoslavia. Aside from Karadzic, the wanted persons are the former commander-in-chief of the Bosnian Serb army, General Ratko Mladic, and President of the already nonexistent self-proclaimed Republicof Serbian Krajina (RSK), Goran Hadzic.
Brammertz will meet on Tuesday President of the National Council for Cooperation with the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia Rasim Ljajic. On Wednesday, the ICTY chief prosecutor plans meetings with new Serbian Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic, Interior Minister Ivica Dacic and Justice Minister Snezana Malovic, as well as withWar Crimes Prosecutor Vladimir Vukcevic.
Serbian President Boris Tadic will receive Brammertz on Thursday.
