Mohammed bin Zayed receives US Secretary of State
Abu Dhabi, July 22, 2008 - WAM - General HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces received in Abu Dhabi yesterday US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice who is currently on a visit to the UAE to take part in a meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the GCC, Egypt, Jordan, Iraq and the United States in Abu Dhabi.
During the meeting which was attended by Foreign Minister HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Mohammed reiterated keenness of the UAE, under the wise leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to support all regional and international efforts aimed at achieving security, peace and stability in the region. He expressed the hope thatdiplomatic dialogue and peaceful approaches will prevail in the region.
Sheikh Mohammed and Rice reviewed bilateral relations and ways to enhance them. They also exchanged views on regional and international issues, as well as efforts being made to arrive at a comprehensive and lasting peace inthe Middle East and the developments in Iraq and Lebanon.
The US Secretary of State briefed Sheikh Mohammed on the outcome of Geneva talks, the progress on the Iranian nuclear dossier and the purpose of hertour of the region.
