Govt to allot extra funds to regions with low children mortality
MOSCOW, July 23 (Itar-Tass) - The Russian government will be providing additional funds for the stimulation of regions with the lowest children' and general mortality rates, Minister of Health and Social Development Tatyana Golikova said on Monday.
"It has been proposed in 2008 to change the methodology of providingfinancial assistance to regions," she noted. According to the new scheme, part of the funds will be allotted for reducing the deficit of regional funds of the compulsory medical insurance.
"The second part is not too big, so we propose to stimulate by these funds the regions that have achieved the best indicators regarding the general and children'smortality rates," the minister said.
