Gas price to remain 179,5 for Ukraine this year -- Gazprom.
KIEV, July 23 (Itar-Tass) -- The price for gas for Ukraine will remain 179.5 dollars a thousand cubic metres this year, Gazprom board head Alexei Miller said during the meeting with Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko on Tuesday.
Gas supplies to Ukraine, the transit through Ukraine's territory and gas pumping into Ukraine's underground gas storage tanks are proceedings "strictly according to schedule", Miller said.
There are no problem issues on operational cooperation, he added.
The sides discussed activities of Gazprom and Naftogaz of Ukraine for the first half of 2008 and the current gas payment situation, thepresidential press service told Itar-Tass.
Miller highly appraised cooperation of the two companies. The work isconstructive. Both parties try to achieve mutual understanding, he said.
"With satisfaction, we note that together with Naftogaz we worked very constructively in the first half of this year and intend to continue to work so further," Miller said, expressing the hope that it was possible todiscuss plans for 2009 and long-term prospects.
Yushchenko also highly appraised cooperation between Naftogaz andGazprom. He said he supported such a character of relations in every way.
Often somebody would like to use the relations, or even without wishing todo so, in incorrect comments, including of a political character, he noted.
The main thing is that the parties have agreed not to politicise the relations and find clear principles of price setting, balance forming, transit policies and its volumes, he said, adding:" It is our prospect, and of course, we would like to see the prospect not for a year, not for two years, but fixed as a mutually beneficial character of relations."
