RF proposes to hold int seminar to exchange election experience

VIENNA, July 23 (Itar-Tass) -- Russia proposes to hold an international seminar next autumn with participation of interestedappropriate OSCE structures to exchange election organisation experience.

The head of the Russian Central Election Commission's centre for election technologies teaching, Alexander Ivanchenko, put forth theproposal at the OSCE seminar here on election monitoring.

Such a seminar may be held in October-November this year, he toldItar-Tass.

Over the past years, Russia made a qualitative leap in organisation and holding of elections, Ivanchenko noted. In sport terms, the country has entered the top league and is capable to compete with western democracies. Russia has accumulated considerable experience to holdelections and organise monitoring and is ready to share it, he said.
