Polar bear enjoys piece of ice cream weighing 150 kilograms
TOKYO, July 23 (Itar-Tass) -A huge piece of ice cream weighing 150kilograms has been presented to a Polar bear of Russian descent, Gogo, who lives at Tennoji zoo in Osaka.
The present was given to the bear in connection with a strong heat that set in there. The zoo administration decided to let the Arctic animal enjoy some cool and simultaneously, give some fun to visitors who rushed to take good positions near the bear to better enjoy the sight.
The ice cream was made of water mixed with honey and stuffed with 20 kilograms of apples. Onlookers said the bear at first was surprised to see the generous gift, but after a cautious lick the bear ate the rest of the ice cream with great pleasure. The bear used his head to break an iceshield and happily ate the frozen apples inside.
The bear was born in the Perm Zoo in Russia in December, 2004. The Horai catering company based in Osaka saw the bear and brought it from the Russian zoo in gift to the Japanese city. The bear appeared at the Japanese zoo in Osaka when it was barely 15 months old. Now we are looking for a bride to the bear, a representative of the zoo administration toldTass. We are hoping to find the bride in Russia, he said.
Incidentally, the ice cream given to the bear proved to be the very thing one needs on a hot day. Air temperatures in Osaka - the second biggest economic center in Japan, have risen to 35 degrees Celsius in theshadow.
