RF opposes solution to bilateral problems at ASEAN Regional Forum.
SINGAPORE, July 24 (Itar-Tass) - Russia opposes the solution tobilateral problems at the international level during sessions of the ASEAN Regional Forum, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said after the 15th ASEAN Regional Forum in Singapore on Thursday.
"Some forum participants tempted to put up for discussion theirproblems in bilateral relations and to make their solution a preliminary condition for all other issues. It seems wrong to me," the minister said.
"Bilateral problems always existed and for their solution directnegotiations should be primarily used, and the multipartite forum should deal with the issues that bring together all participants and look for the ways to develop practical cooperation building up confidence and improving the environment this way in order to solve quickly and effectively a bilateral problem," Lavrov said.
