SOCAR PRESIDENT MEETS FRENCH AMBASSADOR TO AZERBAIJAN
Baku, 25 July,(AzerTAj) - President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) Rovnag Abdullayev met Wednesday with French Ambassador to Azerbaijan Gabriel Keller.
The Ambassador said SOCAR plays a significant role in developing Azerbaijan`s economy, as well as solidifying France-Azerbaijan relations.
R. Abdullayev spoke of Azerbaijan` s rapid economic development including the oil-gas sector. He also touched upon the effective cooperation between France`s Total Company and SOCAR.
According to him, the Azerbaijani leadership places a special emphasis on diversifying its energy resources, and takes great steps to ensure delivering them to the world markets.
Describing Azerbaijan as an important transit country R. Abdullayev stressed transportation of Central Asian oil and gas via the country is possible.
He also expressed confidence the new ambassador would contribute to enhancing France-Azerbaijan relations during his tenure.
