Gazprom board meeting in Oct to decide on coop with Ukraine-Zubkov
KRASNODAR, July 25 (Itar-Tass) - Russia's natural gas giant Gazprom at a meeting of its board of directors in October will make a number of decisions on "issues of cooperation with Ukraine and Belarus," chairman of the board of directors of the company, First Vice Prime Minister Viktor Zubkov told journalists on Thursday.
"The Gazprom board is actively working with Ukraine, and the Ukrainian government is making many proposals in order to regulate the mutual relations in 2009 and further," Zubkov noted. "This work will be carried out and a number of decisions will be made," the official added.
Zubkov recalled that when after a meeting of the company shareholders he held an organisational meeting of the board of directors, first of all he proposed "to form the plan of work for the second half of the year." "We approved it at a meeting yesterday, a total of 39 questions," he said stressing: "we are intensifying control to ensure the fulfilment of all decisions made by the Gazprom board of directors."On Tuesday, Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller said at a meeting with Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko that the gas price for Ukraine will remain 179.5 US dollars per one thousand cubic metres this year.
Gas supplies to Ukraine, the transit through Ukraine's territory and gas pumping into Ukraine's underground gas storage tanks are proceedings "strictly according to schedule," Miller said. There are no problem issues on operational cooperation, he added.
