Armenia govt to return to normal country political life-speaker.

YEREVAN, July 25 (Itar-Tass) - The Armenian authorities are full of determination to eliminate the aftermath of the March events in Yerevan and return the country's political life to the normal course as soon as possible, speaker of the republic's National Assembly Tigran Torosyan said at a meeting with President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Luis Maria de Puig who is winding up his three-day official visit to Armenia.

The interim commission for the investigation of the event of March 1-2 formed in the Armenian parliament is called upon to play an important role in this process, said Torosyan. According to him, members of the National Assembly met with understanding the proposal of CE Human Rights Commissioner Thomas Hammarberg who has recently been to Armenia.

Hammarberg proposed to create a fact-finding group on these events. The speaker said that preliminary debates will be held in the short run, and if the group is formed it will have to cooperate with the interim commission and pass to it its conclusions for following analysis.

The president of the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly began his two-day visit to Armenia on Wednesday aimed at assessing its government's compliance with the Strasbourg-based human rightsorganization's recent resolutions.

De Puig held talks with Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, seniorArmenian lawmakers, opposition leader Levon Ter-Petrosian and members of local civic groups.
