Hanoi (VNA) – The courts are urged to be the people’s guardians, whenever
they seek justice and at the same time be an effective tool to safeguard the
country’s laws and socialist legal system.

State President Nguyen Minh Triet stated this at the judiciary sector’s 65 th
anniversary in Hanoi on September 10.

He also urged the sector to invest more in its personnel and facilities for its
district-level courts to ensure that they can provide true justice.

However, after commending the court sector’s achievements over the past 65 years,
the President pointed out that the sector remains challenged by the quality of
justice, as it still does not meet current requirements.

In his speech, the Chief Judge of the Supreme People’s Court, Truong Hoa Binh,
confirmed that over 65 years, the judiciary has always fulfilled the tasks assigned
to it by the Party and the State.

The sector has contributed to maintaining political security, social order and
safety and the nation’s revolutionary cause, Binh stressed.

At present, the court sector has a total of 4,557 judges at all levels.-Enditem
