Pakistan, United States discuss cooperation in economic, security, strategic fields

Islamabad, July 29 (PPI) - Pakistan's Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani now in Washington in talks with United States President George W Bush and oher leaders will discuss cooperation in economic, security and strategic fields.

Pakistan is deeply interested in cooperation in energy sector in view of prevailing crisis. The proposed Investment Treaty would be high on agenda of talks with United States, said Foreign Office spokesman Muhammad Sadiq at news briefing here Monday.

About implications of nuclear deal between the U.S. and India, he said Pakistan's national security interests are supreme and these will be protected.

Sadiq told a questioner that nuclear scientist Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan retired several years back and has no concern with the country's nuclear programme. He said Pakistan's nuclear programme is fully secured.
