du joins STC's roaming service

UAE based mobile operator du joins the new Unified International Roaming service launched by Saudi Telecom Company (STC), the region's largest telecommunications company.

The new service which will start in August 2008 will cover most of the Middle East, Europe, Indonesia, Turkey, and SouthAfrica comprising 30 global telecommunications operators announced Eng. Saud Al Daweesh, STC President & CEO according to a report in 'Khaleej Times'.

This network will provide travellers with fixed and low cost rates for calls during their stay at these countries and based on the Company's transparent approach customers will receive a message explaining the roaming rates aswell as the preferred roaming network in these respective countries.

"STC's Unified International Roaming Network is a strategic step thatfollows and complements global communications trends," said Eng. Al Daweesh.

By partnering with the leading mobile operators in the region we have established a tariff of economical rates with a discount reaching 69 per cent in some countries and providing great value for our customers who travel extensively across the region and ensuring both transparency andfixed rates, added Al Daweesh.
