World BPO awards for Nahyan, Mona Al Marri
Abu Dhabi, July 30, 2008 (WAM) - The first annual Inspirer of the Year Award has been presented by a global business group to Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research according to a report in Emirates Business 24|7.
The prize is in recognition of Sheikh Nahyan's leadership in developing education and technology and encouraging sustainable partnerships with business communities. It was awarded by the World BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) Forum at its summit in New York. The citation said Sheikh Nahyan exemplified the global leader and citizen whose creativity and enterprise highlight the best that globalisation has to offer to create a prosperous world for current and future generations.
Mona Al Marri, CEO of Dubai's Media Services Group, was named Woman Business Leader of the Year. The summit attracted about 200 global firms and institutions engaged in the US$1.5 trillion (Dh5.5trn) business outsourcing industry, said Kartik Kilachand, President of World BPO Forum.
