FRENCH CNIM TO BUILD COMBUSTION PLANT IN AZERBAIJAN

Baku, 30 July,(AzerTAj)The project of the combustion plant, which is to be constructed in Azerbaijan, today has been presented in the Cabinet of Ministers.

Addressing the participants, Vice Premier Abid Sharifov underlined that French company CNIM became winner of the tender announced by Azerbaijani Ministry of Economic Development.

Deputy Minister of Economic Development Mikail Jabbarov emphasized that annual capacity of the plan will make up 500 thousand tons. The plant will generate 231500 MWh electric power, of which 15% to fall to the domestic needs of the plan, the remaining part to the country’s power circuit.

CNIM Executive Director for International Operations Andre Bertes noted that construction budget of the plant, which is to be located in 10 ha area of Balakhani settlement is € 350 mln. Construction will start in December 2008 and end during the three years, said Mr. Bertes.

CNIM - French-based engineering company has energy and environmental subsidiaries.

The energy unit builds and maintains waste-to-energy plants and flue-gas treatment systems. The environmental unit maintains and renovates power plant boilers and similar equipment.
