Russia marks the day of its airborne troops

MOSCOW, August 2 (Itar-Tass) - Russia will mark the day of its
airborne troops on Saturday, August 2. About 4,000 policemen and interior troops will guard law and order during the celebrations in Moscow.

"In keeping with an old tradition, paratroopers will gather in city
parks and squares to mark their professional holiday," Yevgeny Gildeyev,
the deputy chief of the information and public relations unit of the
Moscow main interior department, told Itar-Tass that police would tighten
up security measures to ensure that the holiday passes without any
incidents," he said.

Moscow's Poklonnaya Hill, the Sokolniki and Izmailovo parks, the
All-Russian Exhibition Centre and the Gorky Park are the sites where
paratroopers usually mark their holiday.
